Wayne Elllsworth joined us this week to help close out the excting 13 week
project in Chincha which has seen the training of another 60 Promoters who have
literally transformed 320 Community Kitchens into permanent social stuctures in
the rebuilding of the two Districts of Chincha with a population of 70,000.
Meanwhile the 6 modern quincha community buildings were nearly completed and
over 1000 request forms were received requesting this new and excellent housing
alternative which costs less than half of bricks and concrete. The staff is now
gearing up for the closure of the project and a great closing celebration next
week, with all project goals achieved.

Lambert continued promoting the 2008 Japan conference in Ghana this week as well as sharing insights and collaborating with other NGOs and government agencies working toward reducing emissions from deforestation at the Accra Climate Change Talks.
The Secretariat is working on seeking funding to support core operations and programs under the Capacity Building and Policy Units. Jane is taking a leadership role in identifying potential funders and coordinating applications. The Montreal school year has now begun and the city is shifting into a new gear. As part of our engagement work, we will be recruiting students to support our work in the coming year. Look for new names at the Secretariat as volunteers come on board to work on special projects.
Thank you once again to Cian for all of her hard work on the training program!
