Dhaka ICA fixed the schedule for ToP training called In House ToT Course for ACSR, the Basic ToP methods will be offered from 9 August-11 August 2007. The training will be held at ACSR training room in Mirpur 1, Dhaka.

For faculty training to prepare for ACSR in house training on ToP, Aziz, Selina, Anju and Babul started intensive practice at Hunger Free World Training room for pedagogy from 1st August. Faculties got excited for learning by doing.

Aziz met Dr. Ishfaq and Miss Danielle from a UK-based college CECOS London while visiting Bangladesh Achievers International Ltd. during 22-31 July. They became very pleased to hear about Dhaka ICA's charitable work with landless people and underprivileged children in Bangladesh. Dr. Ishfaq expressed to do fundraising for such projects back in the UK. Danielle expressed to dedicate herself for children project fundraising. On receipt of official letter they wish to start work for fundraising for Bangladesh children and landless projects.

Dhaka ICA based on Kualalampur meeting among ICA reps in Asia could come to common plan for Dhaka gathering agendas and schedule. Considering he need of participation of all Asian ICAs, the program will be held between 26 November and 7 December so that all can participate in sub-continental and regional meetings. Three courses will be offered on ToP, proposal writing and fundraising for community dveleopment, and leadership during this period accompanied with meetings.

CANADA:

Location: Listen to the Drumming

We have had another dynamic week here, at ICA Canada.  David Buwalda who was just in Il Ngwesi, Kenya, returned with many stories and updates from the field.

We also worked on our fundraising effort with the Toronto Marathon, recruiting runners and businesses to help us support the HIV AIDS programs of the African ICAs.

Our intern Adrienne was able to secure a runner recruitment day at a local business, and Liz and myself presented the projects of the African ICAs to a community club called PROBUS.

We also held a marathon practice run on Monday night, in the hot hot heat.

Conference Preparation

We started talking with the government to support the 2008 conference. The Ministry of Agriculture said they would be happy to send people to the working groups, and we may use their name for authorization, so we can get people from here and there.

JICA said that they may participate in the conference, and they can participate and join discussions for practitioners exchange stories.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said they can support visa applications for those who might find it difficult to come to Japan.  We need to give them lists three or four months in advance, and then MOFA would be happy to inform to the embassy to give permission the easy way.

We are organizing volunteer groups to help us for the conference, and meet with them each month.
